Last he'd seen of Twilight, he was slumped over on Epona, pale face drawn with pain. Fresh tears welled up at the thought of that monster and the condition it left the man closest to family that he could remember in.
"Killed th' dark nut." Wild mumbled into his own legs. "How'd it break?" The question was asked softly, as if Four was afraid to say it. Beneath the bridge was cool in contrast to the summer heat, but not particularly dry. A soft shuffling sounded beside him as Four got himself settled on the wet ground. Wild shrugged, burying his face back into his knees. The hand that threw it came into view at the edge of his hood-obscured vision along with the rest of Four (just one of him? Wild's brain was too tired to question it at the moment.) At his feet was the hilt of a sword, only a small part of the blade remained connected. Four watched him go with a soft smile, glad to have been able to cheer a friend up.Ī loud clatter pulled Wild out the war raging on inside his head. "Would you really?! Thank you Four! I'll go see if Wars has any practice swords or something." With that, Wild dashed into the trees, back in the direction of camp. Wild's open mouth slowly curved into a grin, until all at once he jumped up energetically. And not some cobbled-together mess that's been in a river for a hundred years." He eyed Wild's broken sword with distaste. "Although, you'll need a new weapon first. I can teach it to you if you'd like!" Four said, sheathing the Four Sword. "It's a sword technique, Swiftblade called it 'Rock Breaker'. Wild sat there, slack jawed as his eyes darted from pristine sword to demolished boulder. "So, you see, I'm mostly just curious as to how a rock managed to do that to your sword." Four held the four sword out for Wild to see, not dented or even scratched after his stunt. With a cry of determination, he swung, cracking the boulder in half. A rather sizable boulder sat a few feet away, and Four drew his sword as he approached it. With that, Four stood up, dusting off his tunic as he rose. A rock did that? "Here, let me show you why I was surprised." "What? No I-" Four said, cutting himself off as he blinked in surprise at Wild's response. "I know! It was stupid of me, I get it okay?!" Four felt his eyebrows raise, and he glanced back down at the sword incredulously. "I hit it against a rock." Wild said begrudgingly as he turned back around to face Four. "How'd it break?" Four asked, nuding the hilt with his foot. The metal had snapped right in half (much like Twilight's temper). Four glanced down at the broken sword by his foot. "A waste of supplies, maybe, but you were always better with the bow anyway." Wild seemed to take it as mocking, however, when his face went flat and he turned away from Four. "Yeah, he said it was 'a waste of our supplies and reckless'."įour couldn't help but smile at that. Wild looked up at him, pulling his chin off his hand. "Twilight really did a number on you it seems." When Wild just shrugged, Four took that as permission to sit. "Mind if I sit here?" He asked, motioning to a log nearby Wild's stone. "You here to yell at me about breaking my sword too?"įour raised an eyebrow at the brusk greeting.
"So," Wild said from his seat upon a stone. Rather, he'd be confused about why that broke it lol.

Alright posting fanfiction on here for the first time, I hope people like it! This is inspired by the latest Linked Universe update (SPOILERS in the second half of this for the latest update), and by the fact that in minish cap you can break rocks with your sword so I don't think Four would be confused that Wild was trying to hit rocks with his sword earlier on.
